I love me some polka dots! I’m having a craving for a Dots Cowl by Hilary Smith Callis, as shown above.

I tend not to knit or sew with black. I mean, there’s lots of it available in the shops, why would I knit with it? But I’m feeling the punch of a few black and white patterned accessories might be good.

This will be my first foray into hand double knitting (It’s a pretty standard practice in machine knitting). I think it works really well in cowls because it gives them more body and they are fully reversible. I will be using yarns with angora to the get that lovely bloom. I want some kind of bobble or pom pom trim on the bottom. I’ll let you know how I go with that.

And I can always wear it on the white with black polka dots side, should I feel the need.
